Common Name:
Digger’s Speedwell
Description:
Veronica perfoliata is a hardy Australian native perennial with attractive blue-green, rounded leaves that clasp neatly around upright stems. In spring to early summer, it produces charming spikes of soft blue to violet-blue flowers that add a delicate meadow-like feel to native gardens, cottage-style borders and mixed perennial plantings. Best grown in full sun to part shade, it performs well in Melbourne when planted in well-drained soil and given occasional watering through extended dry periods. Its compact, clumping habit makes it useful for edging, rockeries, informal borders and pollinator-friendly gardens.
