Verbena Drums Blue White

Common name:

Verbena 'Drums Blue White' (Drums Blue White Verbena)

Description:

Verbena 'Drums Blue White' is a stunning, compact, long-flowering perennial celebrated for its spectacular clusters of vibrant violet-blue flowers with contrasting white centres. This eye-catching variety produces an abundance of small, five-petalled blooms arranged in dense, rounded flower heads, creating a beautiful two-toned display throughout the warmer months. Its attractive, finely textured, deep green foliage forms a neat, spreading mound that provides the perfect backdrop for its colourful flowers. Growing approximately 20 cm tall and spreading up to 60 cm wide, Verbena 'Drums Blue White' is an excellent choice for garden borders, hanging baskets, decorative pots, rockeries and mass plantings. Flowering from spring through summer and into autumn, it provides an extended season of brilliant colour while attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Well suited to Melbourne's temperate climate, this vigorous variety thrives in full sun and prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it tolerates short dry periods, although regular watering during hot weather encourages continuous flowering and healthy growth. Removing spent blooms and lightly trimming leggy stems helps maintain its compact, bushy habit and promotes fresh flowers. In Melbourne's colder areas, protection from heavy frost and excessive winter moisture will help ensure its longevity. With its striking blue and white flowers, spreading growth habit and exceptional flowering performance, Verbena 'Drums Blue White' is a wonderful choice for adding vibrant, lasting colour to Australian gardens.
