Common Name:
Creeping Thyme 'Pink Chintz'
Description:
Thyme 'Pink Chintz' is a low-growing, spreading variety of creeping thyme prized for its soft carpet of tiny aromatic leaves and masses of dainty pink flowers. Ideal for filling gaps between pavers, spilling over retaining walls, or softening the edges of garden beds, this hardy ground cover forms a dense mat that releases a pleasant fragrance when brushed or walked on. In Melbourne conditions, it performs best in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating dry periods once established and requiring very little maintenance. Flowering prolifically in spring and into summer, it attracts bees and other beneficial pollinators while adding gentle seasonal colour to the garden. Its neat, mounding habit and evergreen foliage make it an excellent choice for rockeries, cottage gardens, gravel gardens, and pots where a trailing effect is desired.
