Common Name:
Spirea 'Dolchica'

Description:
Spiraea ‘Dolchica’ is a compact, deciduous shrub prized for its deeply textured, lance-shaped green foliage and clusters of soft pink flowers that appear in abundance through late spring and early summer. The leaves are uniquely crinkled and serrated, giving the plant a delicate, finely detailed appearance even when not in flower. This small shrub maintains a rounded, bushy form, making it ideal for borders, low hedging, and feature planting in cottage-style or formal gardens. In Melbourne’s climate, it thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers moderately moist, well-drained soils. It is frost-hardy, tolerates light drought once established, and responds well to pruning after flowering, which helps to encourage dense growth and fresh flushes of foliage. 'Dolchica' is an excellent low-maintenance choice for adding texture and softness to mixed plantings and seasonal colour to small gardens.
