Common Name:
Devon Skies Blue-Eyed Grass

Description:
Sisyrinchium ‘Devon Skies’ is a compact, grass-like perennial adored for its sky-blue, star-shaped flowers that rise delicately above fine, strappy green foliage. Despite its common name, it is not a true grass but a member of the iris family, forming dense clumps that bring a soft, meadow-like feel to borders, rockeries, and cottage gardens. Flowering from late spring into early summer, ‘Devon Skies’ puts on a cheerful display, with blooms opening in the morning and closing in the evening. Well-suited to Melbourne’s climate, it prefers a position in full sun or light shade and thrives in well-drained soil. It’s moderately drought-tolerant once established and can self-seed lightly under ideal conditions. This plant's tidy form and delicate flowers make it a lovely choice for edging paths, mixing into perennial borders, or softening gravel garden spaces.
