Description: Curio 'Trident Blue', commonly known as Trident Blue Chalksticks, is a low-growing succulent hybrid resulting from a cross between Curio repens and Curio talinoides. Bred by Australian gardener Attila Kapitany, this plant features powdery blue-grey, fleshy leaves with lance-shaped tips resembling a trident, hence its name. It forms a dense groundcover, reaching up to 30 cm in height and spreading approximately 1 meter wide. In spring, it produces pale yellow flowers held just above the foliage. Trident Blue thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers well-drained soils. It is drought-tolerant once established and is well-suited to Melbourne's climate. This succulent is ideal for mass plantings, rock gardens, or as a weed suppressant. Minimal maintenance is required, with occasional watering during extended dry periods and protection from frost being beneficial.
