Common Name:
Broadleaf Stonecrop
Cape Blanco Stonecrop

Description:
Sedum spathulifolium ‘Cape Blanco’ is a striking low-growing succulent ground cover admired for its tight rosettes of powdery silver-white to blue-grey foliage. This compact, spreading variety is especially valued for its cool-toned leaf colour, which provides beautiful contrast against darker foliage, gravel, stone, and warm-toned paving. In Melbourne, it performs best in a full sun to lightly shaded position with sharply drained soil and is ideal for rockeries, retaining walls, succulent gardens, alpine-style plantings, and decorative pots. During spring to early summer, mature plants may produce short stems topped with clusters of small yellow star-shaped flowers, adding a bright seasonal highlight above the foliage. Once established, it is highly drought tolerant and very low maintenance, making it an excellent choice for waterwise gardens and exposed planting positions where drainage is excellent. Its neat rosette habit also makes it highly effective in mixed succulent displays and edging applications.
