Common Name:
Stonecrop 'Silver BLOB'
Description:
Sedum ‘Silver BLOB®’ is a hardy, low-growing succulent ground cover prized for its cool-toned, silvery-blue foliage and sculptural appeal. This compact, spreading variety forms dense mounds of rounded, fleshy leaves with a soft metallic sheen that provides year-round interest, especially when planted en masse or in contrast with darker foliage. Ideal for Melbourne’s dry summers and cool winters, ‘Silver BLOB®’ thrives in full sun with excellent drainage and requires very little maintenance once established. In late summer to early autumn, it may produce small, pale pink to white star-shaped flowers that lightly dust the foliage. Exceptionally drought and frost tolerant, this sedum is perfect for rockeries, green roofs, pots, borders, and modern landscapes where texture and structure are key. Its compact habit and shimmering tones make it a standout in both formal and informal garden styles.
