Common Name:
Stonecrop ‘Dragon’
Description:
Sedum ‘Dragon’ is a hardy, low-growing succulent perennial valued for its dense, fleshy foliage and spreading, ground-hugging habit. Its colourful leaves provide excellent texture and year-round interest, developing their strongest tones when grown in plenty of sunlight. Clusters of small, star-shaped flowers appear seasonally above the foliage and attract bees and other beneficial pollinators. Well suited to Melbourne’s climate, Sedum ‘Dragon’ performs best in full sun to part shade and requires freely draining soil, making it an excellent choice for rockeries, retaining walls, borders, gravel gardens and containers. Once established it has good drought tolerance and requires very little maintenance, although occasional trimming can keep spreading plants compact and tidy. Avoid consistently wet or poorly drained soils, particularly during Melbourne’s cooler winter months.
