Description: Salvia ‘Waverly’ is a graceful, long-flowering perennial salvia prized for its airy sprays of soft lavender-white flowers held in rich purple calyces on dark stems. It forms a bushy, slightly arching shrub-like clump with aromatic grey-green foliage, bringing softness, movement and extended colour to garden beds, cottage gardens and large pots. In Melbourne, it performs especially well in a sunny to partly shaded position with well-drained soil, and once established it is notably drought tolerant and low maintenance. Flowering from spring through to autumn, it is excellent for adding seasonal interest over many months while also attracting bees and beneficial pollinators. A light prune after major flushes of bloom helps keep it neat, bushy and flowering strongly throughout the warmer months.
