Salvia Marvel Rose

Common Name:

Salvia 'Marvel Rose' (Marvel Rose Sage)

Description:

Salvia 'Marvel Rose' is a stunning, compact perennial celebrated for its magnificent spikes of vibrant rose-pink flowers and exceptionally long flowering season. Part of the popular Marvel series of ornamental salvias, this attractive variety produces an abundance of large, densely packed flower spikes that rise above a neat mound of aromatic, textured green foliage. Its brilliant rosy-pink blooms create a spectacular display from spring through summer and into autumn, providing continuous colour while attracting bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Growing approximately 40 cm tall and 40 cm wide, Salvia 'Marvel Rose' maintains a naturally compact, bushy habit, making it ideal for garden borders, cottage gardens, mass plantings and decorative pots. Well suited to Melbourne's temperate climate, this hardy perennial thrives in full sun and prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it offers good drought tolerance and requires minimal maintenance, although occasional deep watering during extended dry periods encourages vigorous growth and abundant flowering. Regular removal of spent flower spikes promotes repeat blooming, while a light trim helps maintain its attractive, rounded shape. With its impressive flower spikes, vibrant colour, compact growth and outstanding pollinator appeal, Salvia 'Marvel Rose' is an excellent choice for adding lasting beauty and seasonal interest to Australian gardens.
