Common Name:
Salvia

Description:
Salvia HEATWAVE ‘Flash’ is a vigorous, long-flowering perennial shrub valued for its masses of soft creamy-white flowers that appear on upright spikes above dense green foliage. Selected for excellent heat tolerance and strong garden performance, this variety forms a broad, bushy mound that provides reliable colour and structure throughout the warmer seasons. In Melbourne’s climate it thrives in a full sun position with well-drained soil and performs exceptionally well in garden beds, borders and large containers. Flowering begins in spring and continues through summer and into autumn, especially when lightly pruned after flowering flushes. The nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and small nectar-feeding birds, making it a valuable addition to pollinator-friendly gardens. With its hardy nature, generous flowering and ability to tolerate heat and dry conditions once established, Salvia HEATWAVE ‘Flash’ is an excellent low-maintenance choice for colourful landscape plantings.
