Common Name:
Salvia

Description:
Salvia HEATWAVE ‘Brilliance’ is a compact, heat-tolerant perennial valued for its vibrant display of bright red flowers and long flowering season. Bred for improved performance in warm climates, this variety produces upright spikes of vivid blooms held above a dense mound of aromatic green foliage. The flowers appear from spring through summer and often continue into autumn when regularly deadheaded, creating a continuous source of colour in the garden. In Melbourne’s climate, it performs best in a full sun position with well-drained soil and benefits from occasional pruning to maintain a neat, bushy shape and encourage repeat flowering. Salvia HEATWAVE ‘Brilliance’ is particularly attractive to bees and other beneficial pollinators, making it ideal for pollinator-friendly gardens. Its compact growth habit also makes it well suited to borders, mass plantings and decorative pots where reliable colour and low maintenance are desired.
