Common Name:
African Sky Salvia

Description:
Salvia ‘African Sky’ is a soft and airy perennial salvia known for its profusion of light blue flowers and graceful growth habit. Bred in Australia for local conditions, this variety blooms from late spring through to autumn, providing months of soft pastel colour in garden beds and borders. Its abundant, tubular blooms are highly attractive to bees, butterflies, and nectar-feeding birds, while its aromatic grey-green foliage adds texture and contrast. ‘African Sky’ is particularly well-suited to Melbourne’s climate, thriving in full sun with good drainage and showing excellent tolerance to dry conditions once established. The plant forms a naturally rounded, shrubby shape with minimal pruning, though a light trim after flowering will encourage a tidy form and repeat blooming. Perfect for cottage gardens, pollinator plantings, and low-maintenance perennial borders.
