Rose 'Tatjana' is a richly coloured hybrid tea rose renowned for its velvety, deep red blooms, occasionally marked by a pale streak on one of the inner petals, giving each flower a subtle, unique highlight. Bred in Germany in the 1970s, this variety is valued for its classic form and strong, sweet fragrance, making it a favourite for both garden display and cut flowers. The large, cupped blooms measure approximately 9 to 11 cm across and are borne on long, upright stems in flushes from late spring through to autumn. The shrub is compact and upright, with healthy dark green foliage and minimal thorns, contributing to its elegant structure and ease of maintenance. This rose performs particularly well in Melbourne’s climate, offering excellent disease resistance, repeat flowering, and long vase life. It is ideal as a statement plant in borders, for rose hedging, or in decorative pots.
