Common Name:
Rose 'Playboy'
Description:
Rose 'Playboy' is a bold and colourful floribunda rose that has remained a favourite since its release in the 1970s. It produces clusters of semi-double blooms with golden-yellow centres and rich orange-red to scarlet edges, giving a striking, sunset-toned effect. Each bloom is lightly fragrant, with approximately 7 to 11 ruffled petals, and flowers reliably from late spring right through to autumn. The blooms age gracefully and appear in generous flushes throughout the season.
This rose forms a medium-sized, bushy shrub with a strong upright habit and healthy, glossy dark green foliage. It is well-suited to Melbourne gardens, showing excellent disease resistance and reliable performance with minimal care. 'Playboy' is perfect for adding a vibrant splash of colour to borders, mixed beds, or informal hedges, and is also suitable for containers with regular maintenance.
