Common Name:
Nahema Rose (also known as Rosa 'Nahéma' or 'DELéri')
Description:
Nahema is an exquisite, highly fragrant climbing rose bred by Delbard, celebrated for its large, deeply cupped blooms and intense perfume. The flowers are soft almond-pink in colour, with a classic old-fashioned form and velvety texture. Each bloom spans approximately 9–10 cm and is made up of 28–40 petals, often forming in small, elegant clusters. The scent is exceptional—complex, rich, and romantic—with notes of citrus, peach, pear, apricot, and traditional rose, making it one of the most perfumed roses in cultivation.
A repeat bloomer, Nahema flowers prolifically from early summer through to late autumn, performing well in Melbourne’s temperate climate. Its upright, arching canes can be trained onto trellises, fences, arches, or grown as a pillar rose. The foliage is deep green and healthy, with excellent disease resistance, and the flowering stems are almost thornless, adding to its appeal for garden paths and entrances.
