Common Name:
Rose 'Francis Meilland'
Description:
Rose 'Francis Meilland' is a refined hybrid tea rose developed by French breeder Alain Meilland and named in honour of rose pioneer Francis Meilland. This elegant cultivar features generously sized, high-centred blooms approximately 10–12 cm across, composed of 37 to 80 petals that open in soft shell pink and gracefully fade to near white. The flowers are richly scented, blending citrus, fruity, and classic old-rose aromas. Displayed atop tall, upright stems, these solitary or loosely clustered blooms are set against a backdrop of glossy, dark green, disease-resistant foliage. This rose blooms in repeat flushes from spring through to autumn, offering sustained garden interest and reliable performance in Melbourne's temperate climate. Recognised with multiple international awards, it is highly regarded for its beauty, fragrance, vigour, and resilience.
