Description: The Alfred Sisley rose, bred by Delbard and part of the French “painters” series of impressionist-inspired blooms, is a floriferous hybrid that dazzles with its variegated petals. Each flower combines tones of burnt orange, golden yellow, cream, pink and red stripes, giving a painterly effect. The blooms are semi-double to double and measure between 8 and 12 cm in diameter, with a light, fruity fragrance reminiscent of pepper, pineapple and apple. This robust shrub has a neat upright habit, reaching about 80–100 cm tall and 50–60 cm wide, and is prized for its glossy, dark green foliage. It flowers repeatedly from early summer through to the first frost, making it a standout in mixed borders, cottage gardens or containers. In Melbourne, it is heat-tolerant, disease-resistant, and thrives in full sun to part shade in well‑drained soil.
