Common Name:
Chamomile Sunray 'Paper Cascade'
Description:
Rhodanthe anthemoides 'Paper Cascade' is a delightful Australian native perennial, celebrated for its cascading habit and profusion of papery white flowers. From early spring, crimson buds open into star-shaped white daisies with yellow centres, creating a striking contrast against the plant's soft grey-green, aromatic foliage. This compact, mound-forming plant is ideal for hanging baskets, containers, rockeries, and as a ground cover, where its trailing stems can spill gracefully over edges. Thriving in Melbourne's climate, 'Paper Cascade' prefers full sun to part shade and well-drained soils. It is drought-tolerant once established and benefits from occasional deep watering during extended dry periods. Pruning by about one-third after flowering encourages fresh growth and maintains its tidy appearance. Additionally, its flowers retain their shape and colour when dried, making them excellent for everlasting floral arrangements.
