The leaves emerge with a reddish-purple hue in spring, maturing to green with purple highlights, adding visual interest throughout the growing season. Blooming in late spring, the lightly grape-scented flowers rise above the foliage on stems reaching up to 60 cm in height. This cultivar thrives in part sun to part shade and prefers rich, moist, well-drained soils. It's an excellent companion for hostas and heucheras in shaded garden beds or borders.
