Common Name: Willow-Leaved Podocarp
Description:
Podocarpus salignus, commonly known as Willow-Leaved Podocarp, is an elegant evergreen conifer native to Chile. It features long, narrow, willow-like leaves in a rich, glossy green, giving it a graceful and tropical appearance. This medium to large tree has a naturally upright, columnar habit, making it ideal for screening, hedging, or as a feature tree. It thrives in well-drained, moist soils and prefers full sun to part shade. Tolerant of frost and wet conditions, it is a resilient and low-maintenance tree suited to Melbourne’s climate. Over time, it develops attractive reddish-brown bark and can live for many decades.
