Prunus salicina ‘Primetime’ is a productive deciduous plum tree valued for its sweet juicy fruit, attractive spring blossom display, and reliable cropping habit. This ornamental fruiting tree produces medium to large plums with richly coloured skin and flavourful flesh, making them ideal for fresh eating, preserves, desserts, and home orchard production. In spring, the bare branches are covered in masses of delicate white blossoms that attract bees and beneficial pollinators before the foliage emerges. Through summer, lush green foliage provides dense shade and ornamental appeal before turning warm autumn tones prior to leaf fall. ‘Primetime’ performs exceptionally well in Melbourne’s temperate climate, thriving in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and regular watering during fruit development.
