Penstemon PERFECT POLLINATOR® Blue

Common Name:

Penstemon 'Perfect Pollinator Blue'

Description:

Penstemon 'Perfect Pollinator Blue' is a compact, long-flowering perennial celebrated for its masses of vibrant blue-purple, tubular, bell-shaped flowers that attract bees, butterflies and other beneficial pollinators. Part of the Perfect Pollinator series, this attractive variety forms a neat, bushy mound of slender green foliage, with upright flower spikes providing a colourful display from late spring through summer and into autumn. Growing approximately 50 cm tall and 60 cm wide, it is ideal for garden borders, cottage gardens, mass plantings and decorative pots. Well suited to Melbourne's climate, this hardy perennial thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it tolerates short dry periods, although occasional deep watering during hot weather encourages continued flowering. Removing spent flower spikes promotes further blooms and helps maintain a tidy appearance. With its extended flowering season, compact growth habit and exceptional appeal to pollinators, Penstemon 'Perfect Pollinator Blue' is an excellent choice for adding lasting colour and biodiversity to Australian gardens.
