Common Name:
Forum Tupelo
Description:
Nyssa sylvatica ‘Forum’ is an outstanding ornamental deciduous tree prized for its brilliant autumn colour and strong, upright form. Selected for its uniform growth and exceptional seasonal display, this cultivar produces glossy green foliage through spring and summer that transforms into a spectacular show of fiery red, orange and crimson tones in autumn. Its neat, pyramidal habit makes it an excellent feature tree for streetscapes, lawns and larger gardens where vertical structure is desired. In Melbourne’s climate, ‘Forum’ performs best in full sun to part shade and prefers deep, well-drained soil with consistent moisture, although it will tolerate short dry periods once established. It is relatively low maintenance and resistant to most pests and diseases. Subtle greenish flowers may appear in spring but are generally inconspicuous, with the tree primarily grown for its form and dramatic foliage display.
