Common Name:
Purrsian Blue Catmint
Description:
Nepeta ‘Purrsian Blue’ is a compact, mounding perennial celebrated for its aromatic grey-green foliage and an abundance of soft lavender-blue flower spikes. A modern cultivar of catmint, it has been bred for a tidy, uniform habit and an extended flowering season. From late spring through summer, ‘Purrsian Blue’ bursts into colour with dense clusters of tubular flowers that attract bees and butterflies in droves. Ideal for Melbourne gardens, it performs best in full sun with free-draining soil and shows excellent drought resistance once established. It tolerates heat and light frosts, making it an excellent low-maintenance choice for borders, rockeries, edging, and containers. Trim back after flowering to encourage a second flush of blooms. Its aromatic foliage is deer- and rabbit-resistant and adds a sensory element to the garden.
