Description:
Liriope muscari (LIRF) ISABELLA® is a refined and hardy grass-like ground cover known for its fine, strappy foliage and tidy clumping habit. Unlike broader-leaved forms of Liriope, ISABELLA® features ultra-slim, deep green leaves that form neat, low mounds, offering a clean and contemporary look in garden beds, borders, or as a lawn alternative. In late summer through early autumn, it produces small, soft purple flower spikes that sit just above the foliage, followed by decorative black berries. This cultivar is exceptionally drought-tolerant and frost-hardy once established, making it well-suited to Melbourne’s changing conditions. It performs best in full sun to shaded positions and handles a wide range of soil types, including clay. ISABELLA® is ideal for mass planting, erosion control, edging paths or driveways, and underplanting trees, where its dense mat-forming growth will suppress weeds and provide year-round greenery with minimal maintenance.
