Common Name:
Conebush 'Sundance'
Description:
Leucadendron x hybrida 'Sundance' is a bold and highly decorative evergreen shrub, grown for its striking foliage and colourful bracts rather than traditional showy flowers. This eye-catching variety features upright stems clothed in fresh green foliage, with the tips maturing into vibrant tones of golden yellow, lime, orange and soft red, particularly through the cooler months and flowering season. It provides exceptional year-round structure and is especially valued for cut flower and dried arrangement use. Well-suited to Melbourne’s climate, 'Sundance' thrives in full sun and requires very well-drained soil, performing best in low-phosphorus conditions. Once established, it is drought tolerant and low maintenance, making it an excellent choice for feature planting, native-inspired gardens, coastal gardens, and modern landscape designs.
