Common Name:
Twist-n-Shout Endless Summer Hydrangea
Description:
Hydrangea macrophylla ‘Twist-n-Shout’ is a distinctive lacecap hydrangea from the Endless Summer series, admired for its elegant flattened flower heads, repeat blooming habit, and colourful ornamental stems. This deciduous shrub produces masses of delicate lacecap blooms from late spring through to autumn, flowering on both old and new wood for an extended display period. The flowers feature soft fertile florets surrounded by larger showy petals in shades of pink, mauve, or blue depending on soil pH. Deep red stems provide striking contrast against the lush green foliage, adding year-round garden interest even when not in flower. In Melbourne’s climate, ‘Twist-n-Shout’ performs best in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter and prefers part shade, particularly protection from intense afternoon sun. Regular watering during warmer weather helps maintain vigorous growth and prolific flowering. Its graceful form and long flowering season make it ideal for cottage gardens, woodland-style plantings, borders, and decorative pots.
