Common Name:
BloomStruck Endless Summer Hydrangea
Description:
Hydrangea macrophylla ‘BloomStruck’ from the Endless Summer series is a compact deciduous shrub celebrated for its vivid flower colour, repeat blooming habit, and improved disease resistance. This eye-catching hydrangea produces large mophead flowers from late spring through to autumn, flowering on both old and new wood for an extended display season. Flower colour varies depending on soil pH, ranging from rich pinks in alkaline soils to deep violet-blue tones in acidic soils. The dark red-purple stems and glossy deep green foliage provide additional ornamental appeal, with foliage often developing burgundy tones during cooler weather. ‘BloomStruck’ performs exceptionally well in Melbourne’s temperate climate when planted in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. It prefers protection from harsh afternoon sun, especially during hot summers, and benefits from regular watering to maintain lush growth and prolific flowering. Its manageable size and long flowering period make it ideal for garden beds, borders, courtyards, and decorative pots.
