Common Name:
Fire Chief Heuchera
Description:
Heuchera ‘Fire Chief’ is a stunning evergreen perennial grown primarily for its vibrant, year-round foliage. The leaves emerge as vivid cherry-red and mature into rich wine-red tones, creating a dramatic splash of colour that intensifies through autumn and winter. Delicate sprays of small, bell-shaped pinkish-white flowers appear on slender stems from spring through to early autumn, rising gracefully above the dense foliage mound. Compact, clump-forming, and easy to grow, ‘Fire Chief’ thrives in part shade but will tolerate full sun in cooler parts of Melbourne if kept moist. Ideal for underplanting, borders, edging pathways or growing in containers, this variety also adds bold colour contrast when planted alongside silver, green, or lime-foliaged plants. Its tolerance of light frosts and general disease resistance make it an excellent choice for low-maintenance gardens.
