Description:
Helianthemum 'The Bride' is a compact, spreading evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial renowned for its masses of delicate white, saucer-shaped flowers with prominent golden-yellow centres. The crisp white blooms are displayed above a dense carpet of attractive silvery-grey foliage, giving the plant year-round ornamental value and making it particularly effective in rockeries, gravel gardens, along retaining walls and at the front of sunny borders. In Melbourne, 'The Bride' performs best in full sun and sharply drained soil, tolerating poor, stony soils and dry conditions once established. Flowering predominantly from spring into summer, individual blooms are short-lived but are continuously replaced during the flowering season. It dislikes heavy, waterlogged soil, particularly during Melbourne's cool, wet winters. A light trim after flowering helps maintain a dense, compact habit and encourages fresh foliage growth.
