Common Name:
Dancing Bones Cactus
Description:
Hatiora ‘Dancing Bones’ is a quirky, compact epiphytic cactus grown for its unusual segmented stems that twist and branch in a playful, architectural form. Unlike desert cacti, it naturally grows in forest environments, so it prefers bright filtered light, excellent drainage, and a light, airy potting mix that is allowed to partially dry between watering. In Melbourne, it is best grown indoors in a well-lit position, on a protected patio, or in a hanging basket away from frost, harsh afternoon sun, and waterlogged soil. Mature plants may produce small yellow to orange-yellow flowers, typically in the cooler months to spring, adding extra charm to its sculptural foliage.
