Hardenbergia violacea ‘Purple Spray’ is a vigorous, evergreen Australian native climber known for its cascading sprays of rich purple, pea-shaped flowers. Blooming prolifically from late winter through spring, it delivers a striking display of colour when much of the garden is still subdued. The plant features slender, twining stems covered in glossy, deep green leaves, creating a dense and attractive screen or ground-hugging cover if left to trail. Well suited to Melbourne conditions, it thrives in full sun to part shade and prefers well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerant and relatively low maintenance, benefiting from pruning after flowering to control growth and encourage a fuller habit.
