Common Name:
Bon Accord Grevillea
Description:
Grevillea johnsonii x wilsonii 'Bon Accord' is a distinctive and highly ornamental Australian native shrub prized for its graceful weeping habit and prolific display of richly coloured flowers. This hybrid grevillea produces clusters of vivid red to deep pink spider-like blooms over an extended flowering period, attracting nectar-feeding birds and beneficial pollinators to the garden. Its fine, soft foliage and arching branches create an elegant appearance, making it an excellent feature plant for native gardens, informal hedging, screening, or large landscape plantings. 'Bon Accord' performs best in Melbourne when grown in a sunny position with excellent drainage and benefits from occasional light pruning to maintain shape and encourage dense growth. Once established, it is drought tolerant and relatively low maintenance, thriving in a range of soil conditions provided drainage is adequate.
