Gazania tomentosa

Common name:
Silver Leaf Gazania

Description:
Gazania tomentosa, commonly known as Silver Leaf Gazania, is a hardy perennial ground cover native to South Africa. It features soft, silvery-grey foliage that provides a striking contrast to its bright yellow, daisy-like flowers, which bloom profusely from spring through autumn. The plant thrives in Melbourne's climate, preferring full sun and well-drained soils, and is exceptionally tolerant of poor soils, coastal exposure, and hot, dry conditions. Its low-maintenance nature and spreading habit make it ideal for use as ground cover, in rockeries, or along borders, adding vibrant colour and texture to the garden.
