Common Name:
Fig 'Figalicious'
Description:
Fig 'Figalicious' (Ficus carica 'Figalicious') is a compact and highly ornamental fig variety, specially selected for its dwarf habit and prolific fruiting. Ideal for smaller gardens, courtyards, or containers, this deciduous fruit tree offers glossy, deeply lobed foliage and a neat, bushy shape. In Melbourne's climate, it performs well with warm summers and cool winters, producing an abundant crop of medium-sized, purple-skinned figs with rich, red flesh and a sweet, honeyed flavour. These figs are delicious eaten fresh, dried, or used in cooking and baking. 'Figalicious' prefers a full sun position with well-drained soil and benefits from regular watering during fruit development. It drops its leaves in winter and bounces back in spring with vigorous new growth. A low-maintenance, self-pollinating tree, it’s a fantastic choice for edible gardens, patios, or even balcony growing.
