Common Name: Blueberry Ash – Pink Form (Elaeocarpus reticulatus ‘Pink Form’)
Description:
Blueberry Ash ‘Pink Form’ is a charming native Australian tree or tall shrub, producing delicate clusters of pale pink, fringed bell-shaped flowers during spring and early summer. These fairy-like blooms—often likened to “petticoats”—are followed in autumn by decorative bright-blue drupes that attract seed-eating birds. The foliage is glossy dark green, with new growth tinged reddish-pink, and older leaves may mature to subtle autumn tones. It thrives in both full sun and part shade, tolerates a variety of well-drained soil types, and requires only low watering once established. Frost protection is advised when young. Ideal as a feature specimen, informal screen, or rain-forest garden addition, this species is also suitable for hedging or avenue plantings.
