Common Name:
Delphinium ‘Glitzy’
Description:
Delphinium DELGENIUS™ ‘Glitzy’ is a bold, modern hybrid from the renowned DELGENIUS™ breeding line, selected for its exceptional branching, improved heat tolerance, and long-lasting flower power. ‘Glitzy’ stands out with vibrant magenta-pink blooms layered in double petals, each centred with a soft white bee (eye), forming tall, showy spires that rise above deeply cut green foliage. This variety brings reliable colour and a refined form to both cottage and contemporary gardens, and is an ideal cut flower for home floristry. In Melbourne conditions, ‘Glitzy’ performs well in rich, well-drained soils with regular moisture and good air circulation. Plant it in a position with plenty of morning sun and protection from harsh afternoon heat and wind. It flowers prolifically from late spring into summer, with potential for a second flush in autumn if spent spikes are removed. Unlike older delphiniums, the DELGENIUS™ range is noted for improved resilience and reblooming capacity.
