Common Name:
Delphinium 'Breezin' – Delgenius Series
Description:
Delphinium DELGENIUS™ ‘Breezin’ is a striking modern cultivar renowned for its strong stems and exceptional flowering performance. Bred for improved garden resilience, it features tall spires densely packed with soft lavender-white blooms that showcase a deep purple central bee (eye). ‘Breezin’ blooms in early summer with a possible second flush in late summer or early autumn if deadheaded. Unlike traditional delphiniums, which can be prone to collapsing in the wind or rain, DELGENIUS™ varieties like ‘Breezin’ boast thick, self-supporting stems and a robust habit. Perfect for creating a cottage garden effect or as a vertical feature in mixed borders, this cultivar thrives in rich, well-drained soil and benefits from full sun exposure. In Melbourne conditions, it performs best with protection from intense afternoon sun and strong winds. Though technically a perennial, it’s often treated as a short-lived perennial due to its long flowering season and strong seasonal impact.
