Common Name:
Winter Daphne
Description:
Daphne ‘Eternal Fragrance’ is a compact, evergreen shrub prized for its exceptionally sweet perfume and long flowering season. This improved hybrid produces clusters of soft pink buds that open to creamy white, star-shaped flowers, creating a beautiful contrast against its glossy green foliage. Unlike many traditional daphnes that flower only once, ‘Eternal Fragrance’ performs in repeated flushes from late winter through spring and often again in summer and autumn under Melbourne conditions. It is well suited to garden beds, borders, courtyards and decorative pots, especially when planted near entrances, paths or outdoor living areas where its fragrance can be fully appreciated. It grows best in a well-drained soil in a sunny to partly shaded position and is more tolerant of heat, dry periods and full sun than many older daphne varieties. With its neat, rounded habit and reliable flowering, it is an excellent choice for adding year-round structure and seasonal scent to the garden.
