Clematis montana Mayleen

Common name:
Anemone Clematis

Description:
Clematis montana 'Mayleen' is a vigorous deciduous climber admired for its masses of fragrant soft pink flowers that blanket the plant throughout spring. The blooms are semi-double to layered in appearance, opening in shades of blush pink with creamy undertones and prominent pale yellow stamens. Emerging bronze-tinted foliage matures to fresh green, providing an attractive backdrop to the floral display. This fast-growing clematis is ideal for covering pergolas, fences, trellises, and large garden structures, where it creates a romantic cottage garden effect. Well-suited to Melbourne’s climate, it thrives in full sun to part shade with cool root conditions and well-drained soil. Once established, it offers excellent seasonal coverage and requires minimal maintenance aside from occasional pruning after flowering.
