Common Name:
Starkrimson Cherry

Description:
Cherry ‘Starkrimson’ is a productive deciduous fruiting cherry tree valued for its sweet dark red fruit, attractive spring blossoms, and reliable performance in temperate climates. This variety produces abundant crops of large, glossy crimson to deep red cherries with juicy flesh and rich flavour, making it highly desirable for fresh eating, desserts, preserves, and home orchards. In spring, the tree is covered in masses of delicate white blossoms that attract bees and beneficial pollinators before the foliage emerges. Its lush green foliage provides dense seasonal shade through summer before developing warm autumn tones prior to leaf fall. ‘Starkrimson’ performs well in Melbourne’s climate when planted in full sun with fertile, well-drained soil and protection from strong winds. Regular watering during fruit development and annual pruning will help maintain tree health and encourage productive harvests. Its combination of ornamental beauty and edible fruit makes it an excellent addition to productive gardens and backyard orchards.
