Common Name:
Blue Waterfall Bellflower
Description:
Campanula ‘Blue Waterfall’ is a low-growing, cascading perennial prized for its vibrant blue star-shaped flowers that create a carpet of colour from late spring through to early autumn. This variety forms a dense mat of trailing stems and heart-shaped green leaves, making it a perfect choice for rockeries, retaining walls, hanging baskets, and as a ground cover in borders. The blooms are a rich lavender-blue and appear in profusion, giving the impression of a flowing "waterfall" of flowers. In Melbourne's temperate climate, it performs beautifully in both full sun and part shade, especially when provided with well-drained, moderately fertile soil. ‘Blue Waterfall’ is low-maintenance and fast-growing, with excellent resistance to pests and diseases. It also attracts pollinators such as bees, adding biodiversity to the garden. Trim back lightly after flowering to encourage fresh growth and maintain a compact habit.
