Common Name:
Aniseed Boronia
Description:
Boronia crenulata, commonly known as Aniseed Boronia, is a hardy, evergreen shrub native to Western Australia. It features small, rounded, bright green leaves that emit a pleasant aniseed-like fragrance when crushed. During the warmer months, particularly in spring and summer, it produces an abundance of small, star-like pink to deep magenta flowers that contrast beautifully against the foliage. This compact shrub is well-suited for gardens, rockeries, and container planting, thriving in well-drained soils with regular watering. It prefers a sunny to partially shaded position and benefits from occasional pruning to maintain its shape. Although relatively low-maintenance, it performs best with consistent moisture and protection from extreme heat.
