Description: Armeria maritima, commonly known as Sea Thrift or Sea Pink, is a compact, evergreen perennial that forms dense, mounded tufts of grass-like, dark green foliage. In mid to late spring, it produces charming round clusters of pink to lavender flowers atop slender, leafless stems that rise above the foliage. These blooms may continue sporadically throughout the summer. Sea Thrift thrives in full sun and well-drained soils, particularly in coastal areas, rock gardens, and borders. It is drought-tolerant once established and prefers lean, sandy soils over rich, moist conditions. Regular deadheading can encourage additional flowering.Â
