Common Name:
Aloe 'Sea Urchin'™
Description:
Aloe hybrid (ANDsea) Sea Urchin™ is a compact and uniquely decorative aloe cultivar known for its striking architectural form and long seasonal flowering. This low-growing succulent features dense rosettes of fleshy, blue-green leaves edged with soft teeth, forming a neat, rounded mound that resembles a sea urchin. During the cooler months—from late autumn through winter and into early spring—it produces bright orange-red tubular flowers on short stems, adding vibrant colour and attracting nectar-loving birds. Bred for compactness and reliable performance, Sea Urchin™ is ideal for use in rockeries, succulent gardens, low borders, or as a standout feature in pots. Well-suited to Melbourne’s climate, it thrives in full sun to part shade, with excellent drought tolerance once established. Its slow spreading and tidy growth habit make it perfect for tight spaces, courtyard gardens, and low-maintenance landscaping.
