Common Name:
African Lily – Streamline

Description:
Agapanthus ‘Streamline’ is an elegant clump-forming, evergreen perennial native to South Africa. It features slender, arching strap-shaped leaves that remain lush year-round, topped in summer by loosely arranged umbels of delicate sky-blue to lavender-blue, trumpet-shaped flowers marked with a deeper central stripe. Growing to around 30–50 cm in height and spread, it thrives in full sun to part shade in well-drained, fertile soil — perfectly adapted to Melbourne’s Mediterranean climate. ‘Streamline’ is drought-tolerant once established, enjoys moderate watering during growth, and handles alkaline to neutral pH soils. It is frost-hardy, but may benefit from protection during Melbourne’s coldest snaps. Flowering from midsummer to early autumn, it brings a long-lasting bloom display that attracts bees and butterflies, and makes a wonderful addition to containers, borders, and cut flower arrangements.
