Common Name:
Agapetite Lily of the Nile
Description:
Agapanthus Agapetite is a compact, dwarf agapanthus cultivar celebrated for its clean, rounded form and crisp white flower heads that bloom prolifically through the warmer months. Unlike traditional larger varieties, Agapetite stays low and neat, making it perfect for borders, edging, containers, or mass planting in small gardens and tight spaces. In summer, it produces globe-shaped clusters of white, trumpet-like flowers that rise just above the deep green, strappy foliage, creating a crisp, elegant display.
Agapetite is bred to be non-invasive and sterile, so it won't produce seed like older Agapanthus praecox varieties — an important feature for environmentally sensitive plantings in Victoria. Ideal for Melbourne conditions, it thrives in full sun to part shade and is highly tolerant of drought, frost, and coastal exposure once established. Requiring little maintenance, it responds well to trimming after flowering and suits both formal and informal designs.
