Common Name:
Sublime Lilly Pilly
Description:
Acmena smithii (DOW30) SUBLIME™ is a refined, compact Australian native lilly pilly selected for its vibrant lime-green new growth, dense foliage, and excellent resilience in a range of conditions. This evergreen shrub has a naturally bushy habit, making it ideal for hedging, screening, or topiary. Unlike some other lilly pilly varieties, SUBLIME™ is psyllid-resistant, meaning it retains its clean, healthy foliage without the damage caused by this common pest.
New foliage emerges a bright lime-green before maturing to a glossy, deep green, offering year-round visual interest. In summer, it produces fluffy white flowers followed by edible, pinkish-purple berries that attract birds. Thriving in Melbourne’s climate, it grows well in full sun to part shade and tolerates drought, humidity, and light frost once established. SUBLIME™ is highly adaptable to most well-drained soils, including clay, and responds well to pruning for a neat, formal look or can be left more natural for a soft screen.
